FAQ
Quick answers about the G7 AWD Robotic Lawn Mower — performance, setup, battery, maintenance and Australian delivery.
Performance & Features
Why is AWD more important on complex terrain?
Slopes, wet grass after rain and uneven ground are common in real Australian gardens. Standard 2WD mowers can lose traction and spin their wheels in these conditions, repeatedly scuffing the same spot and causing uneven cutting or patches of turf damage.
The AWD system distributes power across all four wheels, so the mower keeps a stronger grip and steady forward movement even on difficult terrain. This reduces slipping and unnecessary stress on your lawn.
AWD isn't about going faster — it's about staying stable and protecting your turf.
What's the difference between AWD and a standard robotic mower?
The difference is the drive system and real-world stability. Standard 2WD mowers power only two wheels, which limits traction on slopes, wet grass and uneven ground.
The G7 AWD powers all four wheels independently, handling slopes up to 80% (38.7°) and obstacles up to 6 cm.
- 2WD suits flat, simple lawns
- AWD is built for slopes, wet conditions and complex layouts
Can it work in yards with trees, obstacles or narrow pathways?
Yes. Smart obstacle avoidance lets it work safely around trees, toys, leaf piles, sprinklers, water pipes and garden lighting.
For narrow passages:
- Around 1 m wide or less — it can usually enter and complete at least one pass, but will automatically avoid gaps that are physically too tight with solid barriers on both sides, to prevent getting stuck.
- 0.8–2 m — it navigates reliably with minimal missed areas.
As long as the space isn't completely inaccessible, the mower decides for itself whether to pass through.
Can it cover multi-zone or very large properties?
Yes. It supports up to 100 zones and a maximum working area of approximately 10,000 m² (about 1 hectare / 2.5 acres).
It also supports multi-map management, so you can create separate maps for different parts of your property — useful for acreage or properties split by driveways and buildings. Each map can be divided into up to 100 zones.
How much lawn can it mow on a full charge?
Under regular maintenance conditions (varies with grass type and terrain):
- G7 AWD 3000 — up to 1,000 m²
- G7 AWD 5000 — up to 1,000 m²
- G7 AWD 10000 — up to 2,000 m²
How close can it cut to walls, retaining walls and garden edges?
For non-crossable fixed obstacles such as raised paths, retaining walls or solid garden borders, the mower edge-cuts to within approximately 10–15 cm.
For crossable or drivable boundaries, you can map along the edge using the centre of the cutting disc as a reference, which allows closer edge cutting and fewer missed strips.
My lawn has slopes. Can it handle them?
Yes. The AWD system is designed for sloped and uneven lawns, handling gradients up to 80% (38.7°) and obstacles up to 6 cm — uneven ground, small steps and rough garden surfaces.
Even with noticeable slopes or height variation, it moves smoothly without manual assistance.
Will it work on Buffalo, Kikuyu or Couch grass, and in wet weather?
Yes — it handles the warm-season grasses common across Australia, including Buffalo (such as Sir Walter), Kikuyu, Couch and Zoysia, as well as cool-season Fescue and Rye blends.
It can also operate in damp conditions, but mowing in rain or on wet grass isn't recommended. Wet soil becomes soft and unstable, and damp grass bends and clumps, which affects cut quality and finish. Clippings also stick to the machine, increasing cleaning and maintenance.
The built-in rain sensor will pause mowing and return the mower to its charging station automatically.
Can it turn in a confined space about 1.5 m wide?
Yes. It can turn and manoeuvre smoothly within passages of approximately 1.5 m in width.
Will it slip on wet grass or after rain?
It's designed to minimise slipping. Professional off-road tyres combined with all-wheel drive give stronger traction on low-grip surfaces such as wet grass or lawns after rain.
Compared with standard 2WD mowers, movement stays more stable on slippery ground, reducing slipping, stalling and interrupted tasks.
Can it be used in complex or irregularly shaped yards?
Yes. It adapts automatically to different lawn shapes and generates efficient mowing paths for full coverage.
Multiple separated zones, narrow passages and asymmetrical areas can all be managed as a single setup, with fully automated mowing across every zone. Your yard doesn't need to be a neat rectangle.
What are the limitations of the mower?
The G7 is designed for standard maintained turf — residential and commercial lawns. It may not perform optimally in:
- Extremely cluttered or unmanaged areas with heavy debris
- Passages physically narrower than the machine itself
- Completely disconnected environments for extended periods (safety standby may trigger)
- Extremely wet, muddy or flooded ground
- Heavily shaded or fully enclosed areas with no GNSS signal (for example, under dense tree canopy or indoors)
For best results, keep a clear operational boundary and maintain the lawn surface routinely.
My property has poor mobile coverage and patchy Wi-Fi. Will it still work?
Yes. In areas with weak or unstable Wi-Fi and mobile signal, the mower continues operating within its mapped area using onboard positioning and boundary detection.
With no network connection it maintains normal mowing for short-distance movement (around 15 m) while keeping boundary safety active.
To prevent the mower leaving its designated area, if it stays completely disconnected for a prolonged period or exceeds the safety movement threshold (around 15 m without signal recovery), it stops automatically and enters standby.
Does the 4G data service need renewing after the free period?
The mower includes 3 years of 4G data service. After that, renewal is required to keep using 4G — contact us for current renewal pricing.
The mower also supports Wi-Fi for day-to-day operation, and switches to 4G automatically when the Wi-Fi signal is weak or unstable.
What is NetRTK?
NetRTK (Network Real-Time Kinematic) is a positioning enhancement that greatly improves standard GPS accuracy.
Instead of relying on satellite signals alone, it uses real-time correction data from a network of ground reference stations via the internet, achieving centimetre-level accuracy.
In practice: the mower knows exactly where it is, so it follows smoother, more precise paths — even in complex gardens.
Does it have a rain sensor?
Yes. The rain sensor detects rainfall and adjusts operation automatically based on preset safety logic — typically pausing mowing and returning to the charging station to protect both your lawn and the mower.
What are the dimensions and weight?
All three models share the same dimensions; weight varies slightly by configuration.
Dimensions (L × W × H): 768 × 582 × 344 mm
- G7 AWD 3000 — approx. 23 kg
- G7 AWD 5000 — approx. 23 kg
- G7 AWD 10000 — approx. 24 kg
Setup & Usage
Is installation complicated? Do I need a professional?
No professional installation required. The G7 is wire-free — no buried boundary wires and no RTK base station to install, which removes the complicated setup traditional robotic mowers need.
Just follow the step-by-step instructions in the Rokibot app to connect the mower, complete setup and create your map. Most customers do it themselves.
How long from unboxing to first mow?
It depends on the size and complexity of your yard.
Starting with Spot Cut mode without mapping first, the mower is typically ready in 5–10 minutes, including charging station setup, connection and basic configuration.
For full automatic operation, the time depends on how large and complex your lawn map is.
Do I need to supervise it during everyday use?
Usually not. Multiple safety and obstacle detection features let it identify common objects and adjust its path automatically, with tilt and lift detection for added safety.
Once set up, it handles routine mowing on its own without constant supervision.
Note: Spot Cut mode requires an active Bluetooth connection to your phone for stable close-range control.
Can I check mowing progress from my phone?
Yes. The Rokibot app shows working status at any time — mowing progress, current working zone, battery level and overall status. Even when you're away, you can see whether it's mowing, charging or finished.
Can I control it remotely?
Yes. Through the app you can start or pause mowing, send it back to the charging station, or stop the current task from anywhere.
Remote control requires the mower to be online via a stable Wi-Fi or 4G connection.
How do I know it's working properly when I'm not home?
The app shows real-time position, task progress and operating status, plus a map view of areas already covered.
If something goes wrong — the mower gets stuck, is lifted, or a task is interrupted — the app sends a notification straight to your phone.
Remote monitoring requires the mower to be online via Wi-Fi or 4G.
Does it come with a rain cover?
The mower itself is rated IPX6 water resistant, so it operates safely in normal outdoor and wet conditions.
An optional sunshade canopy is available separately for additional protection from sun and light rain while parked outdoors — worthwhile given Australian UV levels. It isn't included as standard.

- Always use the official charging equipment
The battery is designed for around 500 charge cycles with stable long-term performance under normal use.
Maintenance & Warranty
Is daily maintenance complicated?
No. Routine maintenance is simple cleaning and basic checks — clearing clippings from around the blades and occasionally inspecting wear parts.
The app tracks consumable usage such as blade life and notifies you when maintenance or replacement is due, so you don't need to track it yourself.
What servicing and consumables does it need?
It's designed for low-maintenance use. Based on lab testing and typical usage:
- Blades — inspect or replace roughly every 100 operating hours, depending on use
- Battery — around 500 charge cycles
- Camera & chassis — occasional cleaning to remove dust and clippings
- Charging contacts — periodic cleaning for reliable charging
No professional servicing or frequent intervention required. Replacement blades are available from our store.
